YONEX Players Take Great Start To Win The Opener

Stan played solidly enough to keep all his service games in the match. And he overcame the opponent to win 4 of 9 break point. Winning in straight sets by 6-2 6-4 6-3, Stan advanced to the second round to play against Tobias Kamke of Germany.
On the women’s side, No.5 seed Angelique Kerber (VCORE Xi 100) and No.13 seed Ana Ivanovic (EZONE Xi 98) won the overwhelming victory in their opening matches. The world top 5 Angelique played against Elina Svitolina. Keeping her service games with her accurate first serves, she took an initiative to win by 6-2 6-4. The 2008 Australian Open finalist Ana showed great offensive performance to make 12 break chances and took just an hour to defeat Melinda Czink by 6-2 6-1.
Today the Japanese veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm (S-FIT, PTGSPN) won a victory against No.12 seed Nadia Petrova by 6-2 6-0, and 42-year-old Kimiko made the history as the oldest woman player to win an Australian Open singles match.
Hewitt Attacks To Capture The Title At Home
Last week the former world top player Lleyton Hewitt (VCORE Tour 97) competed at AAMI Kooyong Classic 2013 in Melbourne. He advanced to the final and defeated the world No.7 player Juan Martin Del Potro in straight sets by 6-1 6-4. With his second AAMI Classic title, Lleyton showed impressive play to the fellow people although he couldn’t reach the second round at Australian Open.
