    The quarterfinals of Sudirman Cup 2013 was held on Thursday, May 23rd after a one day off of Wednesday. Europe’s giant Denmark was solid enough to be into the semifinals by defeating Chinese Taipei. At the same time, it was the first time for Thailand to achieve a medal at the mixed team event.

    World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei (VTZF, SHB01LTD) participated in his first tournament after the birth of his son at YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2013. After winning the final against Kenichi Tago of Japan, he took the first title as a father. A teenage sensation Ratchanok Inthanon (ARC-FB, SHB01-LX) won her first Superseries title and she established the record to become the youngest ever Superseries winner as 18 years and 82 days old.
