Chinese Taipei, Thailand & Japan Pass the Round Robin

It’s Day 2 of the Sudirman Cup on Monday, May 20th. Chinese Taipei defeated Germany by 5-0 to be through into the quarterfinals as the top position of Group C. Thailand and Japan also passed the round robin by winning their first matches.
In the Group D, Denmark and Japan will compete for the top of the group. It will start at 12:00 PM (local time). The men’s doubles match is between world No. 1 pair Mathias Boe (VT80)/Carsten Mogensen (ARC-FB) and 2013 All England finalists Hiroyuki Endo (VTZF)/Kenichi Hayakawa. In the women’s doubles, world No. 3 Christinna Pedersen(NR800, SHB01-LX)/Kamilla Rytter Juhl(NR800) face world No. 2 Ayaka Takahashi (VT80)/Misaki Matsutomo.
Malaysia and Germany, in the Group C, will play for the spot of quarterfinals today. Malaysia includes world No. 1 men’s singles player Lee Chong Wei(VTZF), world No. 3 men’s doubles Koo Kien Keat(VTZF) and Tan Boon Heong(VTZF). On the other hand, Germany has European star Marc Zwiebler (VTZF), mixed doubles specialists Michael Fuchs (VT80) and Birgit Michels (NR700FX). This exciting match will start at 6:00 PM (local time).
The Thailand team of the Group B is also going to have a match against Korea for the top spot of the group. World No. 5 and Thailand’s ace shuttler Ratchanok Inthanon (ARC-FB, SHB01-LX) won the Superseries title in India in April as the youngest player ever, at 18 years old.
