The 20th Commonwealth Games are Underway

Date
25 July 2014

The Commonwealth Games is a multi-sport event held every four years, where Commonwealth nations go head-to-head across several sports. Holding nearly as much importance as the Olympics for the participating Commonwealth member-nations, this year marks the event’s 20th congregation. The games are currently being held in Glasgow, Scotland, and commenced on July 24th.

YONEX is proud to be acting as the official supplier for the Games’ badminton events, providing the Games with shuttlecocks, among other equipment. Badminton events include individual and mixed team competitions.

Held in Delhi, India previously, the Malaysian national team defeated the Indian home team on their home soil in the team competition. In the individual events, Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II, SHB01LTD) and India native Saina Nehwal (NANORAY 900) were crowned as the champions.

YONEX’s UK site has posted an article with the full details on the English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish teams’ participation. The full article can be read in the link below.
