YONEX is proud to announce that 20-year-old 2014 Swiss Open (Grand Prix Gold) champion Viktor Axelsen (DEN/World No.15) has signed with YONEX.
Viktor won at the 2010 BWF World Junior Championships, making him the first European player to win in boys’ singles. At the Thomas Cup in May of this year, he competed in men’s singles, carrying out a close match with contemporary Kento Momota. Furthermore, in last week’s Indonesian Open (Superseries Premier) he defeated Indonesia’s top player, Tommy Sugiarto (World No.5) in the first round in full sets (21-18 13-21 21-12). It goes without saying that his performance has people around the world very interested.
“I am very pleased to be back with the YONEX family. I feel very comfortable and safe together with YONEX, and am very pleased with the equipment,” commented Viktor, expressing not only his satisfaction with YONEX’s products, but also his immense trust in the full support YONEX provides. With this new contract, Viktor will make his leap to the world stage with YONEX backing him.
