“I hope all the children like it!” Sun-Ju Ahn Donates Grand Piano to Soma, Fukushima

22 July 2014

YONEX golfer Sun-Ju Ahn donated a grand piano to Soma city in Fukushima on July 21st. She had received the piano as a prize when she won the Yamaha Ladies Open Katsuragi this April. A presentation ceremony was held to commemorate the donation, with Soma mayor Hidekiyo Tachiya in attendance.

Soma is one of the cities that was heavily damaged by the 2011 Tohoku earthquake. Sun-Ju, who has continued to show great support for the victims of the earthquake, donated the piano to Soma in hopes that people there can utilize it for the children.

Sun-Ju has shown consistent enthusiasm in her desire to enrich the lives of young golfers. In the JLPGA tour’s YONEX Ladies Golf Tournament this past June, Sun-Ju participated in a workshop for children learning golf. Throughout the workshop, she kept a big smile on her face. “I hope all the children like it!” commented the golfer on her donation.
