Date
23 January 2017

Exhilarating matches continued to unfold on the courts of the Australian Open as the tournament continued over the weekend.

Victory with VCORE

Stan Wawrinka (VCORE Duel G 97, POWER CUSHION ECLIPSION) came out on top after three consecutive tiebreakers against Andreas Seppi, winning 7-6(2), 7-6(4), 7-6(4). The Swiss played with huge power courtesy of his VCORE Duel G, boasting dynamic performance. “I think I find a good way how to be aggressive, to mix the speed on the court today on important points, important moments, and to take advantage of that,” commented Stan the Man on the official Australian Open website. Stanimal would seal the match with his explosive backhand.

Team EZONE DR Drives Forward

Local favorite Daria Gavrilova (EZONE DR 100, POLYTOUR PRO 125) blazed into the final 16 for the second year in a row, upsetting No. 12 Swiss seed Timea Bacsinszky. Strong serving and the clever coercing of errors from her opponent shot Daria up to a 4-1 lead in set 1, clinching the opening game with a backhand winner. The Swiss pushed the match to a final set, but Daria kept cool going into the decider, grabbing another 4-1 lead. With the fervent cheers of local fans backing her up, Daria sealed the match with a forehand volley winner. The final score came to 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.

CoCo Vandeweghe (EZONE DR 98) is into the Australian Open quarterfinals for the first time earning a 6-2, 6-3 win over Angelique Kerber (VCORE, POLYTOUR FIRE 120). EZONE DR in hand, the American remained confident and commanded great power in her first win over a World No. 1 opponent.
