Date-Krumm Becomes the Runner-up At Home

HP Open 2012 was held in Osaka, Japan from October 8th to 14th. It was the last WTA tournament in this season for Kimiko Date-Krumm (S-FIT), and she advanced to the final in women’s doubles.
No. 4 seed Kimiko and her pertner Heather Watson defeated No. 2 seed Zheng Jie (EZONE Xi 98, PTGSPN) and Anabel Medina Garrigues by 6-3 4-6 [10-8] in the semifinals. Kimiko achieved to become the finalist of doubles in the tournament two years in a row although the fourth seeded pair lost in the final against the first seeded pair Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears by 6-1 6-4.
After this tournament, Kimiko will leave for Europe to play 2 ITF tournaments in France.
This week there are 2 WTA tournaments in Europe. Caroline Wozniacki (VCORE Xi 100), Ana Ivanovic (EZONE Xi 98) and Maria Kirilenko (EZONE Xi 98, PTGP125) will compete at Kremlin Cup 2012 in Moscow, and Sabine Lisicki (VCORE Tour 97) will play in BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open.
