Hingis Makes Comeback in Doubles

Recent entrant into Newport’s International Tennis Hall of Fame Martina Hingis has great news: She’s back in doubles. She has accepted to play as a wildcard with Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia in the Southern California Open in Carlsbad, held between July 29th and August 4th.
This is her first entry into a WTA event since the September of 2007. Following the Southern California Open, Martina also plans to compete at some other tournaments.
Martina has achieved a Career Grand Slam in women’s doubles, and collected 37 doubles titles throughout her career. She is ready for a comeback, and said on the WTA website, “My competitive spirit is still very much alive and I love being out on court.”
