New year, new racquet; Kyrgios strikes with the EZONE Blue!

Nick Kyrgios started the 2018 season wasting no time with a big win at the Brisbane International. Having switched to the new EZONE Blue during the off season, the young Australian powered through with his usual power and showman style. Kyrgios would battle through 3 consecutive 3 set matches on his way to the finals, where he defeated opponent Ryan Harrison (United States) in straight-sets 6-4, 6-2. The wins mark his 4th tour title and first of 2018.

This new EZONE Blue is the upgraded successor of the wildly popular EZONE DR Blue. The new EZONE boasts the largest sweet spot in series’ history, in combination with the crushing power that comes from the new Hyper-MG material. With the complete balance of power and comfortable control, Kyrgios could be seen tearing through his opponents with explosive forehands and a barrage power serves constantly clocking in over 200km.
"Thanks to everyone that came out and supported me tonight," Kyrgios expressed his happiness over being able to put on a strong performance in front of his fans in Brisbane. Long time user of the EZONE, Nick praised how comfortable he feels on court. “The power and control I get lets me play my game, which is taking those riskier shots. Commenting on the new design, “the power, the feel, the look of the EZONE Blue all adds up to give me confidence to play my game.” The Australian must have a thing for blue, as he took home his first ATP 500 title after switching to the EZONE DR Blue in 2016. In addition, Belinda Bencic led the Swiss team to victory during the Hopman Cup (Perth, Australia), an international mixed team event. This marks the 2nd time the young Swiss Miss has lead her country to a Hopman Cup title. The former World No. 7 fought back from a 5 month injury, which saw her ranking surge from outside the Top 300 to World No 7. Since switching to the new EZONE on her return to tour , she has been injury free and on fire with 28 matches wins out of 31.

Over in Pune, India, the newly located Maharashtra Open saw Pierre-Hugues Herbert (France) finish runner up with a strong start to the 2018 season. Along with the new location, this marked the first year Yonex supplied the official ball at the tournament and provided the official stringing service to the players.

Since the release of the new EZONE series in August 2017, the racquet has taken the men’s and women’s tennis tour by storm.
