Stanislas Wawrinka & Bernard Tomic sign with YONEX

01 January 2012

YONEX is pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement with ATP Tour top players Stanislas Wawrinka (SWI) and Bernard Tomic (AUS).

Wawrinka is 26 years old, and has three ATP Tour tournament titles to his name. We will certainly see more achievements this year with his powerful single-handed backhand. YONEX signed Wawrinka to a full contract including racquets, apparel, shoes and bag.

Australia’s 19-year-old Tomic reached his career high of No.42 in world rankings last year (November 7th, 2011). He won the Wimbledon qualifying tournament, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the main draw, defeating a number of seeded players en route. Currently, he is the youngest player in the world in the top 50, and has his eyes set on being world number 1.

Wawrinka and Tomic will use the VCORE 98D, which provides both spin and power, and is suited for intermediate to advanced players. Not only does the world’s top female tennis player Caroline Wozniacki use the VCORE series, but Juan Monaco, Go Soeda, and other players also started using it in 2011.

“The VCORE racquet has a larger sweet spot and I can hit with more control," Wawrinka said. Tomic added, “The new VCORE racquet is very good, very powerful and it has a lot of control."

We are very proud to receive endorsement from the world’s top players. We will support them with the best support and products
