Progress at Wimbledon with VCORE Tour
- 04 July 2013
Sabine Lisicki (VCORE Tour 97, PTGSPN) is spending a great week that she advanced to the semifinals of Wimbledon defeating strong rivals such as world No. 1 Serena Williams. Following her progress, Another VCORE Tour player Borna Coric (VCORE Tour 97, PTGSPN) also remains in competition with a straight sets win against Filippo Baldi at the third round match of boy’s singles event.
A 16-year-old Croatian Borna capitalized on break chances to take the lead. Securing four of five break points, he completed the match with a 6-4, 7-5 score line in 1 hour 16 minutes. Borna feels that his racquet and string give him extra advantage for overcoming rivals. “I really like my VCORE Tour racquet, it gives me so much more confidence and power on my shots. Also I’m playing with YONEX string PolyTour SPIN, which gives me control. I think they make a perfect combination,” Borna talked.
Featuring YONEX’s unique extra ISOMETRIC head shape, Sabine and Borna’s choice VCORE Tour is designed to increase the number of main and cross strings that intersect, increasing the sweet spot by 7% (tested by YONEX). Sabine is pleased with that technology and talked, “I can keep offensive approach in a match because I can always make contact with the ball at sweet area so that I hit strongly. This racquet fits my aggressive style very well.”
Please also check the video for our interview with Sabine about her racquet from the link below.
To reach her first final at Grand Slam tournament, Sabine faces World No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska on the centre court today.
