At the WTA Premier tournament BNP Paribas Open which has a 25-year history, No. 8 seed Caroline Wozniacki (VCORE Xi 100) advanced to the women’s singles final to meet No. 2 seed Maria Sharapova after winning the close match against another YONEX player Angelique Kerber (VCORE Xi 100) by 2-6 6-4 7-5.
It was the third time for Caroline to play at the final in Indian Wells, and she has claimed the title in 2011. Following this tournament’s result that Caroline achieved to become the finalist, her WTA ranking moved up to 9th.
We are very proud that Caroline, Angelique and Maria Kirilenko (EZONE Xi 98, PTGP125) reached the last 4 at such a big tournament. Attacking with the EZONE Xi racquet, Maria won big victories against Agnieszka Radwanska and Petra Kvitova to raise her ranking to 13th from 15th. Two VCORE Xi players Caroline and Angelique also impressed tennis fans enough to show the superior performance of their racquet. You can get their impressions for the VCORE Xi on the microsite from the link below.
This week, the other WTA Premier tournament Sony Open Tennis starts in Miami. Caroline has become the semifinalist last year, and she aims for the better result this time.
