YONEX Teens Become Champions at ITF and Futures Events

3 YONEX teen players Donna Vekic (VCORE Xi 100), Nick Kyrgios (EZONE Xi 98) and Borna Coric (VCORE Tour 97, PTGSPN) have achieved great results to capture titles last week.

16-year-old Donna entered the ITF tournament in Istanbul as the top seed, and overcame the opponents to claim her first title at the $50,000 tournaments. Following the result, Donna’s WTA ranking moved up to 80th.

The 2013 Australian Open junior singles champion Nick competed at Futures Yuxi City Commercial Bank Cup 2013 in China. After defeating the top seed Hiroki Moriya (VCORE Xi 98, PTGSPN) in the semifinal, Nick played solidly enough to win the championship match against No. 3 seed Boy Westerhof in straight sets. It was his 18th birthday on April 27th, and he celebrated with the Futures title. Since the beginning of this year, Nick has showed great performance to progress his ATP ranking to 289th from 840th.

It was a great week for Croatian hope Borna that he has achieved to capture his first professional title. He participated in the Futures tournament in Bournemouth, Great Britain and defeated No. 6 seed Daniel Cox in the final by 6-7, 6-4, 6-3. He commented on his Facebook page after the match, “The conditions weren’t easy because it was so windy and cold but I finished the week off with the trophy!”
