US OPEN 2008: 25th August - 7th September
The US Open started 126 years ago. Since then, many world's top players showed us birilliant performances.
Yonex contracted player, Elena Dementieva and Lleyton Hewitt are the ones of them.
Elena has been a semi-finalist twice, in 2000 and 2005, also reached the final in 2004. She had had very good results in the US Open. We can't forget that she also has been a finalist twice in Doubles as well.
Lleyton has been also amazing at the US Open so far. Since he advanced to the semi-finals in 2000, he has been a semi-finalist twice and a finalist once. Farthermore, he became the champion of the US Open 2001.We can't wait to see the Yonex players' hot games in really hot New York city!!

Yonex contracted players are going to wear the New York model at the US Open.
For the US OPEN, Yonex has adopted the design, "DENIM". Yonex players will wear the denim printed shorts and shirts which also printed with the denim design on their both arms. Elena will wear halter-neck dress printed with the demin on its skirt and lace. It is very stylish.
We have asked the Wear Department why they choose DENIM for the US OPEN.
We aimed to produce the clothing which makes Yonex players "attractive" and "newsy" on the court.
Nowadays, it is possible to make the color and shade of a sportswear just as a real denim fabric through the development of the printing technology.
We adopted the denim prints with "orange stitch" and achieved to make the clothing more like denim.
The important thing is, however, not only how they look but also what they are made from.
We used quick drying-material, and furthermore it has the effective xylitol function for the hot play.
"The fusion of the very new design and the technology" is the US Open model, the VERY COOL denim prints.
It is said that the denim was born in the United States. We hope the Yonex players wearing the new model will be in the spotlight at the US Open.

The US Open is the only Grand Slam tournament which has been changed its surface twice.
At first, it was the grass and it changed into the clay. And now, US Open uses hard courts which are completely same as the Beijing Olympics'.
On the hard courts, fast hard-hitting players have a slight advantages because it produces a lower bounce. Many surve-and-volley players have succeded at the US Open.

Unlike the other 3 Grand Slams, the US Open adopts the final-set tiebreaks. In the games, 1 play would be much more important.
