Elena Baltacha (GBR)

Coming from a family of sporting greats, Britain’s Elena Baltacha has obviously inherited her competitive genes. Father Sergei played football for the USSR in the World Cup while her mother Olga was a heptathlete. Brother Sergei was also a footballer who played for Scotland u21s.

Elena is a four-time winner of the AEGON Award.

She has won many ITF singles and doubles titles and reached the third round of Wimbledon as a teenager in 2002. Elena has twice reached the third round of the Australian Open – in 2005 and 2010.
