This right-handed Argentine was born in Tandil. Nicknamed ‘Pico’, he came to prominence in 2007 with a trio of clay court titles – at Kitzbuhel, Poertschach and Buenos Aires.

His best displays in the Grand Slam tournaments were in 2007 where he reached the fourth round at both the US Open and French Open. He reached the same stage in the 2011 US Open.
