Ahmad & Natsir Win Their 3rd Title of Macau

The Macau Open Badminton Championships 2012 was held from November 27th to December 2nd and the defending champions, Tontowi Ahmad (AT900P) and Liliyana Natsir (NR700RP) won the title again.

The world No. 2 Tontowi and Liliyana faced their fellow Indonesian, Muhammad Rijal (ARC10) and Debby Susanto (NS9900) in the final. Tontowi and Liliyana took the lead in the first game to win 21-16, however, Muhammad and Debby didn’t allow it in the second game to tie the match. Playing consistently, Tontowi and Liliyana closed the final game by 21-16 to defend the title since 2010.

The Russian pair Vladimir Ivanov (VT80) and Ivan Sozonov (VT80) advanced to the final of the men’s doubles after defeating Indonesian experienced duo, Alvent Yulianto Chandra and Markis Kido in the semifinals. They played solidly so that Chinese Taipei’s Cheng Mu Lee and Chia Hsin Tsai couldn’t earn any smash winners, Vladimir and Ivan became runners-up though.

There 4 players are ready to play the BWF Superseries Finals which will be held from December 12th to 16th in Shenzhen, China. Please don’t miss the last big event of this year!
