Pedersen Wins Her First Swiss Open Title

18 March 2013

At the final tournament of European tour Swiss Open powered by YONEX, two YONEX players advanced to the Sunday’s finals in the mixed doubles and women’s singles.

The Danish doubles specialist, Christinna Pedersen(NR800/SHB01LX)won the title by producing an excellent performance throughout the event. This is the first title of Swiss Open for Christinna and her partner Joachim Fischer.

Not only Christinna, but also many players such as Lee Chong Wei(VTZF) have been using 2013 new footwear, SHB-01 series. YONEX original POWER CUSHION absorbs shock then reverses the impact energy for smooth transfer into the next movement. Besides, the new technology Quattro Fit System ensures improved grip, power transfer, firmer holding for quick response and direct footwork.

The women’s singles final was contested between 18-year-old Ratchanok Inthanon(ARC10) of Thailand and Wang Shixian of China.

After winning the quarterfinal against No. 2 seed Juliane Schenk with 21-10 21-10, Ratchanok defeated Japan’s qualifier Yui Hashimoto, 19-21 21-10 21-13 to advance to the final. It was an amazing performance from the teenage superstar, although she lost to Shixian, 21-16 21-12.
