Sindhu, Hoon & Tan Win Macau Open Grand Prix Gold

Indian young star Sindhu P.V. (NR700RP) and Malaysian Hoon Thien How (VTZF)/Tan Wee Kiong (VTZF) won Macau Open Grand Prix Gold on Sunday, December 1st.

The No. 1 seed in the women’s singles, Sindhu faced Michelle Li (AT900T) of Canada, who just became the first North American player to reach the final of Grand Prix Gold event there. Sindhu had a so tough match at the semifinal against China’s Qin Jinjing with 21-13 18-21 21-19, however, she showed so stable performance in the final to reduce errors. After a 38-minute match, Sindhu took her second Grand Prix Gold title with a score of 21-15 21-12.

The runners-up at the China Open in November, Hoon/Tan were seeded as No. 2 in the men’s doubles. They played against No. 1 seed Lee Sheng Mu/Tsai Chia Hsin of Chinese Taipei in the final and defeated with 21-16 21-19 to bag their first career title ever.
