Thomas & Uber Cup Kicks Off in New Delhi

The Thomas & Uber Cup world team championships kicked off yesterday on May 18th in New Delhi, India.
In the women’s Uber Cup, Saina Nehwal joined the other NANORAY 900 ambassadors, leading the India team to victory against Canada, 5-0. Thailand got off to a rough start against Hong Kong China. They lost two doubles matches, but managed to make a comeback, with Ratchanok Intanon (VTZF2, SHBF1NLX), Nichaon Jindapon (NR800) and Busanan Ongbumrungpan (NR-ZSP) winning three singles matches, with a score of 3-2. Gabrielle Adcock (VT80, SHB-01LX) and Lauren Smith (VTZF2) defeated Shieh Pei Chen and former world No. 1 Cheng Wen Hsing by 21-15 15-21 13-21 to upset Chinese Taipei with a score of 3-2.
In the men’s Thomas Cup, Lee Chong Wei (VTZF2, SHB01LTD) of Malaysia, Carsten Mogensen (VTZF2, SHB87LTD) of Denmark and Kenichi Tago of Japan won each of their respective matches, getting their countries off to a good start.
