05 March 2013

Qualifying for the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships took place today at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. Our onsite equipment team has been extremely busy making sure that all YONEX sponsored players are equipped with the latest kit for the world’s most prestigious tournament. The main draw starts tomorrow and sees World No. 1 and Men’s Singles top seed, Lee Chong Wei(VTZF) go for his third straight title this year after wins at the Korea Open and Malaysia Open. After many years as one of the world’s very best badminton players, Taufik Hidayat will play his last All England Open. To celebrate Taufik’s illustrious career, he will mark the occasion by using the new ARCSABER 11 throughout the tournament. In the Women’s Singles, Saina Nehwal(NR700RP) enters the competition in fantastic form and is seeded No.2. The World No. 1 pairing of Mathias Boe(VT80) and Carsten Mogensen(VTZF)  are ranked top seeds for the Men’s Doubles while Koo Kien Keat(VTZF) and Tan Boon Heong(VTZF) are seeded second. The Danish duo of Kamilla Rytter Juhl(NR800) and Christinna Pedersen(NR800)  are seeded No. 2 in the Women’s Doubles draw.

England star Chris Adcock had to say about them here:
