Hand Forged in Japan: the new EZONE CB 701, a forgiving, super-soft-feel iron for mid-handicap golfers

Yonex Co., Ltd. is proud to announce the launch of the new EZONE CB 701, a large head, graphite hybrid, forged iron series for mid-handicap golfers, releasing in early September.

The EZONE CB 701 forged iron, made at the Yonex Niigata Manufacturing Headquarters in Japan, follows the EZONE CB 301 and 501, which have received great feedback from top pros on their super-soft feel and responsive control. The new G-BRID (graphite hybrid) structure, which suppresses vibration, providing a softer hitting feel, now incorporates a tungsten core to realize the lowest center of gravity in Yonex’s softest forging. The face is manufactured from a thin layer of the latest maraging steel material, AM355P, which provides excellent repulsion in addition to expanding the sweet spot. The shaft features next generation graphite “Namd*,” which is both tough and light, and quickly returns to form when flexed, resulting in an unprecedented initial ball speed. By raising the initial ball speed and launch, the EZONE CB 701 meets intermediate golfer’s demands of a forgiving, soft-feel iron that produces a high, penetrating ball flight with pin-point control.

With the release of these irons, Yonex graphite hybrid forged irons have been expanded to 4 models — EZONE CB 701, EZONE CB 501, EZONE CB 301, N1-MB — a wide-ranging lineup that features optimal characteristics for all levels of golfers, from intermediate to advanced, as well as leading tour pros.

New G-BRID (graphite hybrid) structure with a built-in tungsten and composite graphite. In addition to improving shot feeling by suppressing vibration, Yonex has realized the lowest center of gravity in the highest level forged iron.

2.    Extremely thin, high-repulsion face

The face is manufactured from a thin layer of the latest maraging steel, AM355P, which has high repulsion properties. The sweet spot is further expanded by the variable thickness face construction.

3.    New dimension graphite material “Namd”

The new dimension graphite material “Namd” dramatically improves the interface adhesion of the Graphite fibers and resin, resulting in a high-strength, lightweight shaft. With increased flex and an unprecedented snapback, it produces a high initial ball velocity for maximum distances.
