On the third day of the Australian Open, eighth-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka (VCORE Tour G) progressed to the next round steadily defeating Alejandro Falla of Colombia with a 6-3, 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-4 score line.

Making 17 break chances to put pressure on the opponent, Stan overpowered the Colombian player to go ahead. He will face No. 28 seed Vasek Pospisil of Canada in the third round.
