- 17 July 2013
It’s a great news that Martina Hingis, who was just enshrined into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, is going to be back in doubles competition. She has accepted to play as a wildcard with Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia at Southern California Open in Carlsbad, which is held from July 29th to August 4th.
This is her first entry into a WTA event since September 2007. Following the Southern California Open, Martina also plans to compete at some tournaments.
Martina has achieved the Career Grand Slam in women’s doubles and collected 37 doubles titles throughout her career. She is ready for the comeback and said on the WTA website, “My competitive spirit is still very much alive and I love being out on court.”
You will see her smart and elegant play again. Please don’t miss Martina’s next challenge!
