Hlavackova Runner-up Once Again in Grand Slam Tournament

At the US Open, the women’s doubles finals took place on Sunday, September 9th. No. 3 seed Andrea Hlavackova (RQiS 2 Tour, PTGP125) / Lucie Hradecka were the runners-up twice consecutively in Grand Slam tournaments this year. They were also the finalists in 2012’s Wimbledon.

The Czech pair faced No.2 seed Sara Errani / Roberta Vinci, who won the Roland Garros title in 2012. During the match, Andrea and her partner made seven break chances, and scored more winners than their opponents in the first set. They demonstrated very aggressive performance despite losing the match by 6-4 6-2.

In 2012, the Czech pair has reached the final four in all the Grand Slam doubles tournaments they’d participated in. They played consistently in the US Open and broke their record in the tournament.

In girls’ doubles, No. 2 seed Belinda Bencic (EZONE Xi Lite) and Petra Uberalova were runners-up. Belinda who is still only 15 years old reached the junior girls’ doubles final of a Grand Slam tournament for the second time in 2012.
