Hlavackova Has Chance at US Open Title

07 September 2012

Andrea Hlavackova (RQiS 2 Tour, PTGP125) and Lucie Hradecka had a great day in New York on Thursday, as they finally managed to make it through to the US Open finals.

In the women’s doubles semifinals, the Czech pair faced fellow YONEX player Su-Wei Hsieh (RDS 002 Tour) with her partner, Anabel Medina Garrigues. It was a tough match for both pairs, lasting around two hours. During the match, the Czech pair demonstrated aggressive performance and excelling over their opponents, especially in their offensive performance. They earned 40 winners, while their opponents only got 23. The Czech pair also managed to convert eleven break points. Their attacking abilities became a key factor in giving them more break points, with the Czech pair finally defeating their opponents by 7-6(2) 6-4.

This is the Czech pair’s first time playing in the US Open finals. Hopes are high for them to win their second Grand Slam title after grabbing the title at 2011’s Roland Garros.

Andrea and other YONEX players compete in tournaments with YONEX’s polyester strings, which give players the advantage they need. Only the YONEX POLYTOUR series are stretched under controlled temperature, guaranteeing greater durability, reduced fatigue, consistent repulsion and fresh, clean contact (as tested by YONEX).

Andrea’s strings, POLYTOUR PRO 125, are durable polyester strings used by the world’s top players. They provide a comfortable feel, reducing shoulder and elbow fatigue.

“The POLYTOUR PRO 125 string allows me to trouble my opponent with extreme spin. It helps me play with great aggression,” commented Maria Kirilenko (EZONE Xi 98).
