Hlavackova Wins Second Place in Doubles
- 09 July 2012
It was Andrea Hlavackova (RQiS 2 Tour, PTGP125) and Lucie Hradecka’s third time advancing to the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament in 2012. They moved ahead to play in the Wimbledon final after defeating Flavia Pennetta and Francesca Schiavone by 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Andrea and her partner faced Serena Williams and Venus Williams, and the Czech pair took second place in Wimbledon for the first time after playing audaciously at the centre court. In this tournament, the Czech pair defeated No. 2 seed Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci en route, who won the women's doubles title at Roland Garros, and achieved a high level of performance.
During this tournament, YONEX’s string, the POLYTOUR PRO 125 boosted Andrea’s performance. This polyester string was highly evaluated by USRSA playtesters. We received some positive comments from them, "This poly is lively and comfortable form the very first hit. The balance of power and control is perfect. Even touch shots feel good."
In the girls' doubles final, No. 7 seed Belinda Bencic (EZONE Xi Lite) and Ana Konjuh played against No. 1 seed Eugenie Bouchard and Taylor Townsend. At just 15 years old, Belinda won second place at this Grand Slam tournament.
It was a great tournament for YONEX players, with Angelique Kerber (VCORE 100S) reaching the semifinals, as well as Maria Kirilenko (EZONE Xi 98) and Sabine Lisicki (VCORE Tour 97) progressing to the final eight. All of them tried their best and demonstrated excellent performance, utilizing the capability of their racquets.
We uploaded a lot of impressions on the VCORE and EZONE Xi series from countries all around the world. Check them out.
