- 23 May 2013
YONEX players get closer to the time of standing on the big Grand Slam stage, Roland Garros 2013.
The last year’s quarterfinalist Angelique Kerber (VCORE Xi 100) is looking forward to playing on the clay court in Paris again this year, “My goal for the 2013 French Open is to reach the second week. And as always I want to have as much fun on court as possible.” Aiming for her goal at the tournament, Angelique expects her VCORE Xi racquet to do the best she can, “My racquet is beside my body my most important tool. As it provides me with a lot of power it helps me to get out of difficult situations and helps me not to get into such situations!”
Another VCORE Xi user Caroline Wozniacki (VCORE Xi 100) focuses on just showing her top performance to take a further step at the Grand Slam event, “I just want to go out there and give it my all. I do not set specific goals regarding reaching a certain round because I know that if I play my best, I can win every match.” Supporting her solid play to bring out her form, the VCORE Xi 100 gives Caroline confidence for tough fights on the clay court. “On clay, it is important to be extremely precise and hit with spin. My racquet allows me do exactly that, yet it still gives me power when I need it. I know that I go into every match with the best racquet on the market,” she says.
During this clay court season, VCORE Tour player Sabine Lisicki (VCORE Tour 97, PTGSPN) became the quarterfinalist at Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. She showed effective play to German fans, and now Sabine concentrates on the upcoming Roland Garros to achieve her best result. “I have one singles and two doubles titles at clay court events, and would like to show my performance as well at the French Open. Even where I compete at the tough clay tournament, I keep trying aggressively as usual to overcome opponents in a long rally. I will try my hard so please support me!”
