YONEX Stringing Team Supports Players Competing in Tokyo

26 September 2013

The YONEX Stringing Team is providing stringing services as the official stringer during the Toray Pan Pacific Open. This time, two specialists who worked at international tournaments around the world joined the YONEX stringing team, and are supporting the players with their professional skills. Mark Goodman has experience stringing at Wimbledon for three years between 2010 and 2012. Kian Pin Lay, another skilled stringer, had important roles at several Grand Slam tournaments and other big tennis events, like the Davis Cup.

With expert stringers, the YONEX stringing team is working hard to meet players’ requests so they can perform at their best. If you have an opportunity to visit the Ariake Colosseum, please come to the YONEX booth and check out their amazing skills.

Two YONEX players, Angelique Kerber (VCORE Xi 100) and Ana Ivanovic (EZONE Ai 98), met in the Toray Pan Pacific Open’s third round on Wednesday, September 26th.

No. 5 seed Angelique boasted spirited play, enough to overcome Ana’s versatile attacks. It was a close contest, but the 25-year-old German excelled over her opponent in her serving performance, including 6 aces. “I think my serve was very well so that was the key of the match. It was very close match so I’m happy with my performance tonight,” Angelique said after securing a win with a 6-4, 6-2 score line.

In the quarterfinals on Thursday, Angelique faces the 2011 champion, Agnieszka Radwnska, aiming for revenge after last year’s semifinal match.
