Career

Powerful and charismatic, Ben Shelton brought fresh energy to New York City by reaching the semi-finals of the 2023 US Open. With his deepest run yet at the Grand Slams, the 20-year-old became the youngest American man in the US Open semi-finals since 1992. In his rookie year, Shelton truly launched himself into the tennis elite. At the 2023 Australian Open – which was his first tournament outside the United States as well as his first trip outside the US – he played some inspired tennis to reach the quarterfinals. Another highlight of his breakthrough season came in Tokyo where he won his first ATP title. In 2024, Shelton added a second ATP title, which he took on the clay courts of Houston – aged 21, he was the youngest champion at that tournament in more than 20 years.
