MELBOURNE, Australia [23] Nick Kyrgios (AUS), [15] Stan Wawrinka (SUI), Marton Fucsovics (HUN), and [17] Angelique Kerber (GER) all advanced to the second week at the Australian Open.

All eyes on Nick:
Prior to the Australian Open, [23] Nick Kyrgios (AUS) captured the heart of his country with his proactive approach to supporting local bush fire relief efforts. Now, Kyrgios has captivated the entire tennis world with another electrifying performance to wrap up the first week.

Kyrgios upset 16th-seeded Karen Khachanov with a thrilling, four-hour, 26-minute, five-set victory. Kyrgios, who is averaging 25 aces per match, fired another 97 winners, which accounted for more than half of his total points won.

He will play World No. 1 Rafael Nadal in the round of 16.

Flying under the radar:
Marton Fucsovics (HUN) has only dropped one set in his first three matches combined. Fucsovics is looking for his first quarterfinal appearance in a major when he plays Roger Federer on Sunday.

[15] Stan Wawrinka (SUI) advanced to the second week in Melbourne for the seventh time in his career. Battling flu-like symptoms through the first couple rounds, Wawrinka caught a break when John Isner retired mid-way through their third round match due to injury.

Wawrinka will be looking for redemption again Daniil Medvedev, who he lost to in four sets at the US Open last year.

At home in Australia:
2016 champion [17] Angelique Kerber (GER) is proving the Australian Open is her most consistent Grand Slam with her fifth consecutive second week appearance.

Kerber converted on five of six break point opportunities and hit only 16 unforced errors to win the match 6-2, 6-7, 6-3. Kerber will play Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who upset second-seeded Karolina Pliskova in straight sets in the third round.
