KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Yonex and the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) held a press conference on April 9th, 2021 to formally announce a partnership that will appoint Yonex as the official sponsor for the Malaysia National Badminton Team.
The contract details a 5-year partnership which will provide racquets, strings, shuttlecocks, bags, apparel, shoes and stringing services for the national team players. Yonex will also become the official equipment supplier for the Malaysia Open (World Tour Super 750), Malaysia Masters (World Tour Super 500), and Malaysia International Challenge (Grade 3) with court mats, net poles, shuttlecocks and the expertise of the Yonex Stringing Team.
“I’m pleased that both BAM and Yonex have rediscovered each other and have now agreed to join forces on this determined journey where we will work together and reignite the proven winning partnership. Most importantly, we will shape the future of badminton by delivering what the fans want and ultimately, what the players need” states BAM President, Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria.
The relationship between BAM & Yonex dates back decades, with a 10 year long continuous partnership from 2005 to 2015. Yonex expressed honor and appreciation to BAM for appointing the brand as a key partner in elevating Malaysian badminton. Yonex promised to never stop striving to provide the best products and services to the Malaysian national team.
