All five founding legends, Peter Gade (DEN), Lee Chong Wei (MAS), Taufik Hidayat (INA), Lin Dan (CHN) and Lee Yong Dae (KOR), are planning to head to Canada in July to assist in leveling up junior players and future badminton stars.
The legends have been working together to understand how to create greater impact through their Legends’ Vision initiative. Canada will be the next stop for the Legends’ Vision World Tour with activations across multiple cities. Legends will split between Vancouver and Toronto, running junior clinics to bring the badminton community together, whilst driving inter-club collaboration. The clinics will be followed by a viewing party to watch the YONEX Canada Open, where juniors can invite their friends to join the legends for an evening of badminton fun.
Calgary is the next stop with the legends coming together for the World Tour exhibition event taking place at the YONEX Canada Open 2023, finals day, July 9th. Amongst the exhibition event, autographs, and photo opportunities juniors will also learn about the legacy initiatives the founding legends will be leaving behind in Canada. These initiatives will help level up Canadian juniors on the world stage.
The Legends’ Vision has many aspirations, but juniors are at the heart of everything. To grow the sport of badminton, it’s important to engage with the community. This not only levels up juniors but also entices new players to join the sport.
