In men’s doubles, Danish doubles experts and No. 1 seeds Mathias Boe (ARCSABER 11, SHBSC6iEX)/Carsten Mogensen (ARCSABER 11, SHB87LTD) proved that they rule the court when it comes to doubles. They sealed their semifinal match against Andrei Adistia and Hendra Aprida Gunawan in a brief 31 minutes to win 21-7, 21-18. The following final match put fellow YONEX players head-to-head, as well as the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds. Facing off against Hiroyuki Endo (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE Ⅱ)/Kenichi Hayakawa, the Danish pair dominated after returning from a set down. With the two unable to play at full strength, the Danes had some trouble at first, but changed their tactics in the second game to control the match and pull through for a victory. Armed with the ARCSABER 11—weapon of choice for control—the Danes commanded the pace of the rallies with their opponents unable to regain control over the match. Scoring a staggering 11 consecutive shots in the third game, the No. 1 seeds won the title with a score of 18-21, 21-9, 21-7.
In mixed doubles, Chris Adcock (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE Ⅱ, SHB01LTD) /Gabrielle Adcock (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE Ⅱ, SHBSC4LX) placed as finalists, facing off against fellow YONEX doubles pair Mads Pieler Kolding (ARCSABER 11, SHB-87EX)/Kamilla Rytter Juhl (NANORAY 900) in the semifinal. The full-set match came down to the wire in each game, with both sides ferociously exchanging points. However, it was the Adcocks that were victorious in the end with a score of 21-17, 19-21, 21-19. In men’s singles, Tommy Sugiarto (ARCSABER 11, SHB-87EX) made it to the semifinals, with Ratchanok Inthanon (VOLTRIC 70 E-tune, SHBF1NLX) also placing as a semifinalist in women’s singles.
