Hyo-Joo Kim Victorious At LPGA’s JTSB Founders Cup

YONEX Tour Professional and teenage superstar Hyo-Joo Kim, shot a final round 5-under 67 to capture her second career LPGA Tour victory at the JTSB Founders Cup in Phoenix, Arizona.

Entering the final round with a two-shot lead over World No. 3 Stacy Lewis, Kim carded seven birdies and two bogeys to finish at 21-under-par for the tournament, three shots ahead of runner-up Lewis.

“I am so surprised to have gotten my first win in the US so quickly in my rookie year," said Kim. "I am very satisfied with my YONEX clubs—every shot felt great, from driver down to my iron shots."

En route to her second win of the 2015 season, her first on the LPGA tour, Hyo-Joo shot rounds of 65 (-7), 69 (-3), 66 (-6), and 67 (-5) for a total score of 267. Hyo-Joo’s Founders Cup victory moved her Rolex World Ranking up four spots from 8th to 4th.

At the LPGA Tour’s final major of 2014, the Evian Championship, Hyo-Joo made golf history with the lowest single round score ever in a major (by a man or woman) when she opened with a 10-under-par 61. Hyo-Joo became the third youngest major champion ever on the LPGA Tour.
