Indian Wells 2015: Belinda Bencic Accomplishes First Win against Top 5 Player

2014 US Open quarterfinalist Belinda Bencic (EZONE Ai 100POLYTOUR HS 125) brought about another great upset to her competitor, this time winning against world No. 5 Caroline Wozniacki at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells on March 16th.

The young Swiss, who just turned 18 last week, won against the Dane in straight sets in an hour and 40 minutes. Belinda boasted a very clean performance with only one double fault, while Wozniacki committed eight. Landing two decisive break points in each set, Belinda triumphed at 6-4, 6-4. This marks Belinda’s first victory against a Top 5 player, after winning against two Top 10 players in 2014. This victory is also significant considering that Wozniacki won 6-0 6-0 the last time the two met.
