Jaume Runner-Up in 2014 Roland Garros Boys' Singles

It was an exhilarating final weekend at the 2014 Roland Garros boys’ singles tournament, with YONEX player Jaume Antoni Munar Clar (EZONE Ai 100PTGP125) confidently rising through the ranks of the tournament. On June 6, day 13 of the tournament, Jaume competed against No. 5 seeded Quentin Halys of France in the semifinal match. Once again Jaume boasted a top performance. Playing an aggressive game, the talented young player managed to win 79% of his first serve points, four break points, and two aces. Jaume came out of the match with a straight-set victory, 6-4 6-2, maintaining an excellent record and denying his opponent from taking a set.

Jaume went up against Andrey Rublev in the final match. It was a tough match, with Jaume coming out strong in the second set, scoring five aces, and five winners as the game came down to the wire. While Juame exhibited a strong and assertive performance, he ultimately could not take the title.  His tremendous playing power in the tournament this year, has made him a player to look out for in the future.

After the semifinal match, Juame commented, “My racquet and strings worked perfectly! The racquet helped me to play aggressively and gave a controlled spin to all of my shots.”

Jaume’s YONEX POLYTOUR PRO 125 strings are softer, designed to deliver the maximum amount of control on hard hits, perfect for those who want to play aggressively. Matched with his YONEX EZONE Ai, Jaume can hit at high speeds, utilizing the racquet’s revolutionary frame shape along with its unique NANOMETRIC material.

Sights are now set on this year’s next Grand Slam tournament, the Wimbledon Championships. YONEX’s players will surely display amazing performances there as well, so don’t miss it!
