Laybourn & Juhl Capture the German Open Title

As the first tournament of the 'Big 3' European tour, YONEX German Open Grand Prix Gold was held from February 28th to March 4th. YONEX contract players Thomas Laybourn (NS9900) and Kamilla Rytter Juhl (ARC10) in the mixed doubles and Simon Santoso(AT900P) in the men’s singles reached the finals.



Against #3 seed Lee Yong Dae and Ha Jung Eun of Korea, #4 seed Laybourn and Juhl captured the title in 36 minutes, which was the fasttest match of the day. The score was 21-9, 21-16.

5th seeded Santoso defeated 6th seeded Jan O Jorgensen in the semifinals with 21-12 21-13 and then faced #1 seed Lin Dan in the final. He showed his great performance through the tournament and became a runner-up after losing Lin, 21-11 21-11.

More players will compete in the next YONEX All England Open Badminton Championship. The preparation for the tournament is now proceeding. Please look forward this most historical championship!
