Defending champion Chong Wei faced Chen Long in the final, which was the same pairing as the YONEX All England Open last month. Chong Wei dominated the game in England and he did it again in New Delhi. Swinging his VOLTRIC Z-FORCE Ⅱ, he made powerful smashes to win the points. The accuracy of his shots pressured Long to make many unforced errors. Long couldn’t adjust to Chong Wei’s speed and controlling rally. Chong Wei was steady throughout the game and defeated Long 21-13 21-17 to defend the title.
Winning the Korea Open title in January, VOLTRIC Z-FORCE Ⅱ players Mathias and Carsten, faced Chinese Liu Xiaolong and Qiu Zihan. The Danish duo lost all four matches against Xiaolong/Zihan in the past. Continuing their winning streak the Chinese pair won the first game of the India open. The second game had a surprising finish, as Mathias and Carsten played more aggressively smashing the shuttle harder. Their heavy smashes were effective in gaining the points earlier, and finally defeating the Chinese duo for the first time to capture their second title of the year. The final score was 17-21 21-15 21-15.
Christinna, pairing with Joachim Fischer Nielsen in the mixed doubles, defeated World No. 1 ranked player Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei in the semifinal, 14-21 21-6 21-18. The No. 3 seed Danish pair faced 4th seeded Ko Sung Hyun/Kim Ha Na from Korea in the final and it became a tense game.
