Monaco Becomes the Doubles Finalist at VTR Open

With Spanish clay court expert Rafael Nadal, YONEX player Juan Monaco (VCORE Xi 98) competed at VTR Open in Vina del Mar, Chile. They were in good form to defeat the second seeded players Frantisek Cermak / Lukas Dlouhy by 6-3 6-2 although it was their first challenge in 2013 to play in the doubles event. After two more wins to reach the final, they faced Italian pair Paolo Lorenzi / Potito Starace. Juan and his partner have been able to regain their form throughout the tournament although they lost the final by 6-2 6-4.

We received Juan’s impression for his VCORE Xi 98 and he is pleased with its exceptional performance, “This VCORE Xi 98 racquet feels great and allows me to generate more power and more spin from serves. It is the perfect racquet for my game.”

Another YONEX player Nick Kyrgios (EZONE Xi 98) took a big step at Charles Sturt Adelaide International which was held from February 4th to 10th. Although it was the first challenge for Nick to enter the ATP Challenger tournament, he reached the semifinals after defeating No. 6 seed Brydan Klein in the first round by 6-4 6-7(5) 6-1 and Greg Jones, which overcame No. 3 seed Peter Polansky, in the quarterfinals by 6-4 7-5. Last month Nick won his first junior singles Grand Slam title at home and then 17-year-old Australian now proved that he has good skills enough to compete at senior events.
