Attacking with VCORE Tour 97, No.15 seed Stanislas Wawrinka showed superior offensive performance at the fourth round match against the 2011 and 2012 Australian Open winner Novak Djokovic on day 7, January 20th. Stan ran a dead heat in 5 hours 2 minutes and fought aggressively for winning a hard battle although he couldn’t reach the quarterfinal. It was so exciting match enough to pack Rod Laver Arena, and the spectators watched their efforts to the end. The final score was 1-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-7(5-7), 12-10.

At the third round match of women’s singles, No.14 seed Maria Kirilenko (EZONE Xi 98, PTGP125) faced No.20 seed Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium, and defeated the opponent in straight sets by 7-6(4), 6-3. After winning the close first set, Maria made 6 break chances and achieved 3 times to capture the ticket for the next round.
Maria has reached the quarterfinal at the 2010 Australian Open. To break her record, she faces No.3 seed Serena Williams in the fourth round today.
