Team VCORE Qualifies for the Next Gen ATP Finals

Get ready for the rising stars of tennis to compete in the inaugural Next Gen ATP Finals, starting on November 7, 2017. The excitement will take place in Milan, Italy featuring the world’s top seven men’s singles players under 21 and one “wild card” player. Team Yonex is proud to be represented by VCORE players Denis Shapovalov (VCORE SV 95) and Hyeon Chung (VCORE Duel G 97).

At just 18 years of age, Denis Shapovalov will be competing with his VCORE SV as one of the youngest qualifiers in this year’s tournament. Shapovalov had an impressive season capturing fan’s attention by defeating the then World No. 2 Rafael Nadal at the Rogers Cup and playing in his first U.S. Open this summer. He then confirmed his seat for the Next Gen ATP Finals by upsetting Yuichi Sugita in round one of the Swiss Indoors Basel, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(3).

21 year-old Hyeon Chung reached a career-high ranking of No.44 last month, shortly after his quarterfinal appearance at the Winston-Salem Open. Chung is currently South Korea’s No.1 player.
