Jaume Through to Round 2 in Roland Garros Junior Doubles

Coming off of his singles win in round one yesterday, young YONEX player Jaume Antoni Munar Clar (EZONE Ai 100PTGP125) took another victory, this time in doubles. on June 2 2014, day nine of Roland Garros. Pairing up with fellow Spanish player Pedro Martinex Portero, Jaume squared off against Daniel Appelgren and Wei Qiang Zehng. The No. 8 seeded pair had a great performance, converting five of six break points, landing an ace, with a total of 59 points won between the two of them. They took the match in straight sets, 6-4 6-2. Jaume will have a double header on day 10, facing Martin Blasko of Slovakia in singles, and then returning to the court once more with his partner for a doubles match against Boris Pokotilov and Nino Serdarusic. Be sure to keep an eye out for where this rising star goes next!



Day 10 will also see Juan Monaco (VCORE Xi 98) take to the clay courts with his partner Maximo Gonzalez to face off against Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin. Juan and Maximo claimed a champion title on clay courts back in 2008 at the Open de Tenis Comunidad Valenciana (now known as the Valencia Open 500) taking the final match in straight sets, 7-5 7-5. Juan continues to have to performances with his YONEX VCORE Xi 98 racquet. In a recent video interview Juan said that, “The ISOMETRIC head shape of my racquet helps my game so much. It gives me a lot of power, especially when I hit power shots. This racquet responds really well and I’m extremely happy with the way it works.”
