Toray Pan Pacific: Belinda Bencic into Singles and Doubles Second Round

Monday, September 15th marked the opening of the Toray Pan Pacific, held at the Ariake Tennis Forest Park in Tokyo, Japan. YONEX players are off to a good start, with Belinda Bencic (EZONE Ai 100POLYTOUR HS 125) advancing in both singles and doubles events.



Belinda dominated in her first round match against 2009 French Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, which lasted just over an hour. While the Russian created two break chances, Belinda saved both of them, and in turn broke her opponent’s serve five times. The final score was 6-3, 6-0. "My first WTA win came here last year, so I have very positive impression of Japan. I always seem to play well here, so I'm happy to be back," commented Belinda on being back in Japan on the WTA website.

Other EZONE victories include Coco Vandeweghe (EZONE Ai 98) against Alla Kudryavtseva, winning at 6-2 7-5, and Daria Gavrilova (EZONE Ai 100POLYTOUR PRO 125) against Lauren Davis winning with a score of 4-6 6-4 6-4.
