VCORE Players Become Semifinalists in Casablanca and Houston

YONEX players battled hard on the clay courts last week. Stanislas Wawrinka (VCORE Tour 97) entered Grand Prix Hassan II in Casablanca, Morocco and Juan Monaco (VCORE Xi 98) competed at US Men’s Clay Court Championship in Houston. Both players finished as semifinalists.

Stan’s impressive performance this year was evident, with his close match against the world top player Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open. The match lasted 5 hours 2 minutes. Stan is pleased that his VCORE Tour racquet supports his aggressive playing style and helps him win. Stan said, “this racquet gives me the confidence to hit the ball aggressively, with more power and more spin on both my backhand and forehand shots. It’s the perfect partner for my game.”

It was Juan’s first semifinal in 2013, and his performance shows he has regained his form from the tournament he won last year. The Masters tournament will be held in Monte Carlo where players will battle to achieve the best result.

Lithuanian YONEX player, Ricardas Berankis (EZONE Xi 98, PTGP125), played in Houston, and progressed to the quarterfinals after defeating No. 2 seed veteran Tommy Haas in straight sets 6-3 6-3.
