World’s best ease into quarter finals

Lee Chong Wei (VTZF2, SHB01LTD) was once again in dominant form during day 3 at the YONEX All England Championship.


The World’s No.1 faced Chong Wei Feng (VTZF), in the second round. Starting strong Chong Wei quickly gained the lead with his faultless attack and defense, dismissing his opponent 21-6 in Game 1. Game 2 followed a similar course as Chong Wei’s aggressive play and speed continued to dominate his opponent. It was a flawless display from the former All England Champion winning two straight games 
21-6, 21-12.


The World’s No.1 Men’s Doubles pairing Mohammad Ahsan (ARC-FB, SHB87LTD) and Hendra Setiawan (NR800, SHBF1NLTD) won their second round match and moved into the quarterfinals.


Facing the English pair, Chris Langridge and Peter Mills, the Indonesian duo were at a disadvantage from the outset. Playing in front of a loud and enthusiastic home crowd, Langridge and Mills stormed into the lead with an outstanding display of aggressive play and took Game 1 with a score of 21-8.


In Game 2 Ahsan and Setiawan came out sharper and faster in attack and defense taking the lead and winning game 2 with a score of 21-17. Ahsan and Setiawan continued to overpower the rallies in Game 3 with greater mental focus and determination proving why they are ranked as the best pair in the world.
