2016 BWF Dubai World Superseries Finals champion Viktor Axelsen (DUORA Z-STRIKE, POWER CUSHION 65) made a strong start to his 2017 Superseries campaign, earning a straight win over younger compatriot Anders Antonsen, 21-13 21-9. Taking to the court with the new DUORA Z-STRIKE, Viktor boasted commanding power with every single shot.
World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei (DUORA 10, POWER CUSHION 03 Z MEN) also impressed in the opening round, defeating French Brice Leverdez 21-15 21-12. The Malaysian national hero dominated the court with the DUORA 10, delivering constant barrages of powerful shots and masterfully navigating the court.

Hometown Favorites into Round 2
Chris Adcock (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II, POWER CUSHION AERUS 2 MENS) and Gabrielle Adcock (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II, POWER CUSHION AERUS 2 LADIES) made short work of the Singaporean pair Terry Hee Yong Kai and Tan Wei Han. The local heroes seized the first game thanks to Gabrielle’s keen net coverage, forcing their opponents to send the shuttle long. The match was won when Chris made a super-angled return at the net, leaving the opposing pair with no answers. The local favorites won in straight games, 21-9, 21-18.
