Kyrgios Overcomes Kokkinakis to Win Australian Open

The local player Nick Kyrgios (EZONE Xi 98) fought to achieve his best result at the championship match of junior boys’ singles on Saturday, January 26th. Nick appeared on the big stage Rod Laver Arena to face the fellow Thanasi Kokkinakis, and won a great victory in straight sets by 7-6(4), 6-3.


Throughout the event, Nick showed the outstanding performance against tough opponents, and he also played aggressively in the final match. Attacking with his EZONE Xi 98 racquet, Nick achieved 36 winners to overcome the opponent. Also he served strongly from his high 191cm tall enough to keep all his service games with 8 aces. he has hit a 210 km/h serve in the match, and took the initiative with such big serves. Nick is pleased with the great control performance of EZONE Xi 98, and he talked, “I feel that I can just control the ball where I want it to go.” He also explained that his racquet helped him to play solidly especially on his serves.


17-year-old Nick claimed his first junior singles title at Grand Slam tournament, and became the fourth Australian player to win this title in the last seven years following Brydan Klein (2007), Bernard Tomic (2008) and Luke Saville (2012).
