Lee Chong Wei Grabs Second Straight Title since Revival Title at YONEX Canada Open

Coming off of his first big victory since his revival at the YONEX US Open, Lee Chong Wei (VOLTRIC Z-FORCE II LCWSHB01LTD) grasped another fine win at the recent YONEX Open Canada on June 28th.



The Malaysian shuttler put up a tough fight in the third round, quarterfinal, and semifinal, earning victories in full-set matches. In the final, Chong Wei boasted a strong performance, sealing his match against Ng Ka Long Angus in straight sets at 21-17, 21-13. Throngs of local fans were thrilled, gazing on the shuttler’s fantastic plays.

Michelle Li (NANORAY 900SHBF1NLX) won the women’s singles title. The local shuttler defeated Minatsu Mitani (ARCSABER 9FL) in the semifinal, and Kaori Imabeppu (NANORAY 900) in the final. The Canadian took the final match in straight games, but the last game proved razor sharp. The final score came to 21-17, 25-23. Michelle’s win on local soil resulted in a great reaction from the spirited crowd.
